At seventeen, Jonathan ran away with a small traveling circus passing through his hometown of Oaktownville, Idaho. What attracted him to the circus life was not a love for feats of human strength or illusion, but a passionate taste for American fried food. Corn dogs, funnel cakes, basically anything deep-fried… that was Jonathan's palate. In 1983 he returned home to find his previous quiet life had been turned into a Wal-Mart parking lot. At that point he changed his life for good, by moving to Vermont. It was good enough.
